Thank you for your interest in joining Polecat Power Line Company’s hiring pool. We are looking for skilled Power Line Technicians (PLTs), Utility Arborists, Labourers and Supervisors to support power restoration and infrastructure projects across Ontario and the U.S.

At Polecat Power Line Company, we take great care in pre-screening all applicants for our hiring pool to ensure that only the most qualified and reliable workers are selected. Each candidate undergoes a thorough evaluation process, including the verification of valid certifications, work experience, and safety training. We also require professional references to confirm their past performance and reliability. Additionally, we ensure that applicants hold a valid driver’s license and meet all relevant industry standards. Candidates must also be willing to travel anywhere in North America to meet the demands of both routine and emergency storm response projects. This rigorous screening process allows us to provide our clients with skilled, dependable professionals who are ready to deliver high-quality results, regardless of location.

To be considered, you must provide:

A valid Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) or equivalent documentation

A valid Driver’s License for trade (DZ or AZ)

Two professional references from previous employers or supervisors

Valid passport

Proof of safety certifications (if applicable)

Willing to travel across North America

Call Out Process

Once an employee (such as a Power Line Technician, Utility Arborist, Supervisor, or Labourer) is approved to be in our hiring pool, they become eligible for callouts based on the needs of our contractor and utility partners. When a request for staffing comes in, we will reach out to the approved employees in the pool to gauge their availability and readiness for the specific project.

If selected, the employee will be given the details of the project—including the location, duration, and any special requirements—before confirming their commitment. Upon confirmation, the employee will receive a formal contract for that particular deployment, which is provided on an as-needed basis for each job.

Employees who are part of our hiring pool should be prepared for flexible deployment and willing to travel to various locations, as the callouts can be for routine work or storm response across North America. We ensure timely communication and clear expectations to make the process as smooth as possible, so our employees—whether a Labourer, Technician, Arborist, or Supervisor—are always prepared and ready to deliver quality work when called upon.
